I walk all night down the concrete strip.
I’m taking myself on a sidewalk trip.
I step on the crack, breaking the backs
of all the skeletons sleeping on my mind’s one track.

Footsteps echo in the cool night air.
I won’t look behind ‘cause I know nobody’s there.
I creep past the graveyard in the cold moonlight
and wave to my buddies, dead but standing upright.

If you see me in the shadows in the evening walking by
when the streets are empty and the bats are in the sky,
don't call my name. I don’t want to talk
